How to get a Rwanda Visa upon arrival?

How to get a Rwanda Visa upon arrival, On January 1, 2018, Rwanda announced what could be termed a global visa-free entry for travelers from everywhere in the world. The communique was released by the Directorate of Immigration and Emigration stating that citizens of all countries of the world over could enjoy 30 days visa on arrival under the regime. Some applicants are required to pay a fee where applicable.

Rwanda already got such a system in place for all African countries and a number of countries outside the continent. The country was reputed as one of the most open in visa openness index publications.

It’s now very clear that you needn’t have to apply before traveling to Rwanda thus you will easily be issued a visa upon arrival in Kigali or at all border points entering Rwanda without prior application, since January 2018.

The new visa policy was approved on November 8th, 2018 during a cabinet meeting chaired by President Paul Kagame. This was to foster the free movement of people thus improving trade and tourism inside Africa, which in return increased the number of foreign investors coming to Rwanda.

This was also a move to attract more tourists coming to track Rwanda mountain gorillas in Volcanoes National Park and also to increase foreign investors, trade, and other tourism-related products after Rwanda approved visas upon arrival.

The new visa regime also touched on other areas like visa mutuality for specific countries whose citizens get free visas with 90 days validity. The countries in question are the Central African Republic, Chad, Benin, Guinea, Indonesia, Haiti, Seychelles, Ghana, Senegal and Sao Tome, and Principe.

This is in addition to the Democratic Republic of Congo, East Africa Member Community Partner States, Mauritius, Philippines, and Singapore, which had to take immediate effect.

“Nationals of Israel, New Zealand, Australia, Germany, United Kingdom, Sweden, and United States of America were to be issued with entry visa valid for a period up to 30 days and pay for a visa ($30) upon arrival without prior application,” according to a government portal.

It also addresses the area of visa waiver for particular diplomatic and service passport holders, another directive that takes immediate effect. There was also a 90-day visa on arrival for travelers from the COMESA (The Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa) region subject to payment of visa fees.

This also means that Indian travelers holding a valid Indian passport can enter Rwanda by air, sea, or road and get their visas stamped on arrival at the Kigali International Airport.

The Cost/ Price for Rwanda Tourist Visa?

Rwanda tourist visa cost only $30 for 30 days (one month) but most African countries will get their free charge please check on Rwanda Directorate of Immigration and Emigration for the list, remember you can also make good use of the East African Tourist Visa which allows you to go to East Africa Member the Community Partner States on some visa, East African Tourist Visa cost $100, East African Community Countries include Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, South Sudan, Burundi, and Rwanda.
