UGANDA PRIMATES AND WILDLIFE SAFARIS FROM KIGALI

Day 1

Arrival, Kigali City tour and transfer to Bwindi Forest.

From Kigali airport, you will be welcomed by our own guide/driver who will gladly take you for  Kigali city tour, you will be mesmerized by the natural beauty of Rwanda the land of thousands hills. It’s such a clean city with hospitable people who will be warmly happy to receive you. The first spot that tourists visit when on a city tour in Rwanda is the genocide memorial museum; it has information about how this war started. You continue visiting the national museum and other attractive sites in the city (Kigali City tour is optional). You will enjoy an adventurous drive through the terraced hills as you access the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in Uganda Kisoro area it’s a famous home for the great mountain gorillas.

Day 2

Gorilla tracking in Bwindi Forest

After breakfast, pick your packed lunch drive to the Bwindi forest park headquarters for registration and join other trackers in a briefing about the dos and the don’ts during your gorilla tracking  which starts at 8:00 am. Gorilla trek is done through thick creepers and undergrowth with your guides to find the mountain gorillas, tracking can take you half an hour to three quarters of the day. The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. It is an extraordinary feeling for any one being with these beautiful endangered Creatures of Africa.

Day 3

Golden Monkey tracking in Mgahinga

After early breakfast you will proceed for golden monkey tracking, this is another existing moment. Prior to meeting the golden monkeys, you will see other primates, fauna and flora. Finally get face to face with the beautiful golden monkeys. You will see them play as they jump from one branch of tree to the other; all this will be amazing and memorable for your Uganda primate safari from Kigali.

Day 4

Transfer from Mgahinga to Queen Elizabeth Nation Park

After breakfast start your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park. This drive will take you through the Ishasha sector arriving at Queen Elizabeth National Park, you will have a game drive enroute where you might spot game along the way as you transfer to the park headquarters. Watch out for tree climbing lions in the Ishasha sector, before heading to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 5

Transfer from Queen Elizabeth National Park to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast go fro morning game drive which will take you through different tracks and parts of  Queen Elizabeth National Park and in the afternoon you will go for a boat ride on the Kazinga channel which connects lakes Edward and George. The launch cruise will reward you with game like hippos, elephants, buffaloes and birds at the shores, thereafter we transfer you to Kibale Forest National Park.

Day 6

Morning Chimpanzee tracking and afternoon bigodi swamp walk

After breakfast, head to Kibale Forest to view the primates, This activity begins at 8.00am with a briefing of the rule for trekking the chimpanzees after which you set off to search for them in the forest. The exercise takes half a day and along the way you will see other primates such as Grey cheeked Mangabeys, Phoestes, Red-Colobus and the Blue tailed and the Red-tailed monkeys swinging in the braches of this thick forest. The park ranger guides will give you informative briefings on the lifestyles of the primates you will be coming across and on the plants as well as on the insects and butterflies in this forest to ensure that the trek is not only enjoyable but informative as well. After you will return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon you will go for Bigodi swamp walk.

Day 7

End of 7 Days Uganda Primates and wildlife safari from Kigali Rwanda

After morning breakfast, you will drive back to Kigali International Airport for your flight out late in the evening.
