This 4 days gorilla safari in Uganda starting from Kigali Rwanda is for travelers who have enough time and would like to spend some good time in Uganda’s Bwindi impenetrable forest national park or in Mgahinga gorilla national park. In 4 days one can go for two gorilla trekking which can be done in eith Bwindi or Mgahinga and you will be able to trek 2 different gorilla families in fact even choose to have your first trek in Bwindi forest and second trek in Mgahinga national park or either way around.
There is another option of gorilla habituation experience in Bwindi forest-Rushaga sector, this means that you can even book one gorilla trek and one gorilla habituation experience which allows you to spend up 4 hours with mountain gorillas of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in south western Uganda.
Uganda gorilla habituation permit price is $1500 per person and you are allowed to spend 4 hours with gorillas while normal Uganda gorilla trekking permit costs $700 per person which allows only one hour with gorillas. DETAILED ITINERARY for 4 days Uganda gorilla tracking safari in Bwindi from Kigali
Day 1
Transfer from Kigali to Bwindi forest in Uganda for gorilla safari
Our tour guide/driver will be pick you from Kigali International Airport or from Hotel in Kigali to start the drive/journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. This drive to western Uganda will take you through a country of a thousand hills to the Pearl of Africa, cross into Uganda via Katuna border in Kabale or via Cyanika boarder in Kisoro as you access Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Dinner and overnight at the lodge below.

Day 2
Uganda Gorilla trekking in Bwindi forest
After breakfast, your guide/driver will drive you to Bwindi forest park headquarters for briefing about gorilla trekking as park rangers takes you through all the dos and don’ts while trekking mountain gorillas and after briefing you will be transferred to the starting point of your gorilla family that you have been allocated to trek.
Gorilla family allocation depends on travelers’ interests, fitness and age, so if you have any special interests please inform your guide/driver so that he will try to request for the gorilla family that suits your choice before you begin to trek. Gorilla trekking can be strenuous and a certain level of fitness is required.
Uganda gorilla trekking can take between half hour to three quarters of the day so one needs to be well prepared, once you find gorillas you will be allowed to spend only one hour of photography and observing mountain gorillas as they go about with their daily business after trekking go back to the park headquarters to pick your certificates that shows that you completed gorilla trekking in Uganda’s Bwindi forest. Dinner and overnight lodge below.

Day 3
Second optional gorilla trek or gorilla habituation experience in Bwindi forest
On this day you can choose to go for a second gorilla trek in Bwindi forest or in Mgahinga. After earl breakfast, get your packed lunch and your guide/driver will transfer you to the park headquarters for the second briefing about gorilla trekking. Parker guide will take you through all the dos and don’ts while second gorilla trek and after that, you will be transferred to the starting point of your gorilla family.
When park rangers are allocating gorilla family base on your interests, fitness and age. So it’s good to inform your guide/driver of your interests so that he can try to request for the gorilla family of your choice before you start the trekking.
Gorilla trekking in Bwindi forest can be strenuous and a level of fitness is required for you to have successful trek and also mountain gorilla trekking can take half an hour to three quarters of the day so one needs to prepared and plan accordingly.

Day 4
Transfer back to Kigali for City tour
After morning breakfast, we drive you back to Kigali for city tour. The first spot that tourists visit when on a city tour in Rwanda is the genocide memorial museum; it has information about how this war started. You continue visiting the national museum and other attractive sites in the city (Kigali City tour is optional). After we will take you back to the airport for your flight out
