Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a home to the most endangered primates in the world with almost half
of it population living here, has made it a world heritage site. Laying in the south western part of Uganda with area coverage of 327 square
kilometers was gazetted in 1992 and since then this home to the gorillas has made its mark in the world as one of the most appreciated world heritage site.
With its name meaning impenetrable, this park boosts of highly tangled vegetation with lots of hills and valleys which makes it a special place for one to
visit and see these endangered mountain gorillas. Bwindi can be cold at times and while you are here or planning to visit this world heritage site,
you are advised to carry something warm for yourself. However this world heritage site can be visited all year round and
you are always advised to use 4×4 vehicles so as to avoid getting stuck on the way.
Wildlife Species in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Bwindi Impenetrable national park boosts of 10 primates, 350 bird species and over 60 butterfly species and moths. A road trip to this beautiful place
will take you between 8 to 10m hours, however there are flights that can be arranged from kajjansi air strip or Entebbe airport to the park and you can always be
picked up by your guide or the hotel where you will be staying. While in this home to the gorillas you will be able to visit these animals in many different
sectors of the park and groups to visit here include: The Mubare group in buhoma, the Habinyanja group in buhoma, the Rushegura group in buhoma, the Bitukura
group in ruhijja, the Orozogo group in ruhija, Kyagulilo group in ruhija, Nkuringo group in nkuringo,Nsongi group in kisoro, Mishaya group in kisoro. Community walks
or village walks, bwata experience, bird watching and forest walks are some of the other activities you can enjoy while you are in this beautiful park.
