Do I need a Porter when climbing Mt Nyiragongo or going for Congo Gorilla Trek

Yes you can be hire a porter at the base of Kibati starting point, cost of the porter is at $24 for the round trip but you can as well tip him or her accordingly. The weight that porters con carries is ranging from 15kg to 20kgs. Kisoro Tours advice all its clients to take a Porters because a porter makes yours hiking much easier.
